Ceramic Canvases – An Ode to Serenity from Jingdezhen | Chinese Cultural Center Den Haag
Ceramic painting, an art form in its own right, uses “ceramic as the canvas and glaze colours as the ink". It complements the art of ceramic shaping. By blending patterns, colours, and occasionally text with the ceramic form, the painting imparts ceramics with rich and expansive cultural significance.
𝗖𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝘃𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀: 𝗔𝗻 𝗢𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗝𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗱𝗲𝘇𝗵𝗲𝗻 features 16 meticulously chosen contemporary porcelain artworks from Jingdezhen. These works convey the aesthetic pursuits of Chinese literati painting, offering a glimpse into the contemporary development and preservation of “literati painting on ceramics".

Workshop for the kids
During the exhibition, the Center will specially launch a New Chinese-style Porcelain Painting Workshop for the Kids, instructed by the exhibition curator YU Minhong in collaboration with young ceramic artist CHEN Jie.
