Daniel Gould to Jim Driscoll

Hi JD;

...Read all about it...Starlin Castro is breaking all the records. He is now hitting .407 after three hits in four at bats on Sunday... See how he compares with two hall of famers whose names you will be familiar with.

Sincerely;

Dan

Stat Speak: Castro hitting at rapid rate for Cubs
April 18th, 2011
Roger Schlueter / MLB.com

At 21 years old, and less than a year removed from that phenomenal debut, Starlin Castro has burst out of the gate and is collecting hits at a rate that makes one wonder what other company he might be able to keep.

Daniel Gould to Jim Driscoll

Hi JD;

Re: Starlin Castro: As you said, "...Never heard of him, except from you..." Of course. I'm the journalist and it is my "job" to report what's happening and before anyone notices. Check out Sports Illustrated for this week. He's their cover boy. He had 40 hits in April tying an MLB record for most hits by a player 21 or younger. He tied with Alex Rodrigues who did it in '97. Hey, that ain't bad company! Watch his cohort at second base: Darwin Barney who was named the National League Rookie of the month.

Sincerely;

Dan

Hmmmm....I'm not sure.  I'm not well up on odd-lot records like this one.  I'll guess: either your boy, or that new Narional Leaguer....outfielder, last year, who hit (I think) A 3-RUN hr in his first game and his first AB.

But I forget his name, anyway.

Here's one:  Who holds the record for most total bases in a Major League game?   Played for Dodgers...outfielder.............(LA Dodgers)..............???

How many bases? (Prev played in the American League...and was a JEWISH fellow.)...........................JD

Hi JD;

He was last October after the  last at bat in the very last game. I wouldn't bet against him.
